Puerto Rico Gran Canaria

Situated in the south of the island of Gran Canaria Puerto Rico boasts a variety of things to do and places to stay. A park planted with ficus trees and palms is just behind the beach, there is also a heated swimming pool, flood lit tennis, mini golf courses a water park at the back of the centre. Puerto Rico has grown over the years and now has four shopping centres full of shops, bars, restaurants, pubs and discos the main one in the centre called “Centro Commercial” which stands for Shopping Centre the second largest is situated at the top of the hill called the Centro Commercial Europa along with the family centre. Moving down towards the sea you will find a small shopping centre in the barranco of Agua la Perra which is home to some lovely restaurants and last but not least you have CC La Passarella just passing the beach.

Puerto Rico Gran Canaria is also home to a 2 harbours, Puerto Base and Puerto Escala in those you will find a variety of excursions including deep sea fishing trips, parascending, ferries, dolphin searches, sailing, diving, jet skiing and all day cruises.

Due to the constant sunshine and the protections of encircling hills the wide man-made beach with sand from the Sahara desert shelves gently into the sea making this a popular destination for families with small children. Another man made beach in the south of Gran Canaria with several restaurants is the Playa de Amadores which can be reached in 20 minutes by a clifftop path from Puerto Escala or 2 minutes by car.
