Why Fuerteventura ?

It has a modern airport, currently being extended to attain International status. All main roads on the island are built to a high standard with no disruption to traffic due to road repairs.

The island has a modern and efficient drainage system with no effluent being pumped into the Ocean; telecommunication is robust with fast speed internet connection available in all major towns and villages.

Anyone thinking of retiring here can have peace of mind in the knowledge that medical care is in abundance with a modern equipped hospital in the capital, and a plethora of medical centres strategically located the length and breadth of the island. It is also a safe environment in which to live as the island enjoys a very low crime rate.

The island is part of the European Economic Community being a colony of Spain which provides stability both politically and economically with interest rates much less volatile than in the U.K.

For the sports enthusiast, Fuerteventura offers a multitude of activities including water sports, wind surfing, kite surfing, boogie boarding, scuba diving, rod fishing and deep water big game fishing. On land there are jeep and camel safaris, tennis, Golf, hiking, horse riding, motor cycling, and Quad biking opportunities to interest even the most discerning sportsman.

The South of Fuerteventura is the quietest and most tranquil, has the best climate with a constant temperature of 33° for most of the year, coupled with very little rainfall makes this an ideal location in which to live. It has beautiful landscapes with the contrast of picturesque mountain ridges in land to the majestic Ocean views separated by vast kilometres of golden, sandy, beaches. Calm waters, no strong undercurrents and the absence of dangerous creatures like jelly fish and crabs etc. mean these beaches are among the safest in the world.

The construction of new homes is firmly controlled to prohibit over development of its towns and villages unlike in parts of the North, this means demand for new property is high and given supply is restricted property values are set to climb steeply, making the South not only a highly desirable place to holiday but a perfect location for property purchase investment offering the investor a high return on capital outlay, particularly near the new golf course in Jandia.

Jandia.

This is the largest tourist resort in Southern Fuerteventura, the beach is 22 K.M. long stretching from Costa Calma to Morro Jable. You will see more apartments than villas here which makes the new golf villa development all the more interesting. This is the only golf course in the South and building restrictions which exist in Pájara will ensure that it will never become over developed. It is a perfect holiday destination as well as being an ideal location to buy a holiday home as high demand and low availability will make the purchase of these villas a prime investment.

Morro Jable

In this village you will get an opportunity to experience the friendly atmosphere of the local people. It is a very active fishing village and you can watch the boats return to the harbour with their catch and see the fishermen prepare it for market. The harbour is also commercially operated being the gateway to other Canarian Islands such as Gran Canaria and Tenerife. It also provides a home to the many private yachts which can be seen moored within its walls. The village is very busy, has an abundance of supermarkets, restaurants, bars and shops and plays host to the annual carnival, Fiesta Del Carmen. Property here tends to be in the form of apartments rather than villas.

Costa Calma

Enjoys some of the best beaches on the island and as its name implies, the Ocean is very calm and perfectly safe for young and old alike to enjoy themselves swimming in the beautiful turquoise waters. For the more energetic, why not try to stay on the banaboat or try your hand at wind surfing. It also has a host of hotels, restaurants, bars and discotheques giving you a chance to wine, dine and show off your tan whilst dancing the night away. There are many apartments here also, including a recent off plan development where the prices are much lower than an equivalent re sale property. It has a very European feel with English, German, Spanish and Italian people holidaying here.

La Pared

Located 10 k.m. North West of Costa Calma, this is a very affluent, tranquil village where mass development is strictly controlled. Developments of multi storey apartments are prohibited in favour of single storey units or detached villas. In the village is a Hotel, supermarket, bar and two restaurants serving food of the highest quality. As La Pared is on the West Coast the sun sets are magnificent with people driving many kilometres to observe the spectacle each evening. By holidaying here people can get away from busy pressures in the U.K. and many return two or three times per year, making La Pared a perfect village to own a holiday villa or indeed to retire here.

Tarajalejo

As this village is in the Municipality of Tuineje where building controls are a little more relaxed building plots are available in the urbanization district of Puerto Azul, varying in size from 500 m2 up to 1,000 m2 on which we could build your dream villa to your own specifications. You will find many shops, restaurants, bars a supermarket and because Tarajalejo is fairly built up it offers good shelter from the wind. There is a wide mix of properties from large detached villas to apartments. A scuba diving and sailing school is located on the beach together with a beach bar where you will find local and foreign people.

Giniginamar

A former fishing village Giniginamar is now a typically sleepy Spanish village having two distinct halves. The old part where can be found bars and restaurants and retired fishermen telling stories of their adventures out at sea. Young children cooling off by swimming in the inviting Ocean. By contrast the new part of the village sporting whitewashed frontline villas and apartment blocks, including a new off plan development scheduled for completion next year being constructed on a hillside overlooking the picturesque valley below, which have some of the most attractive purchase prices on the island.
